| Lynn Broderick, Artistic DirectorLynn Broderick, Artistic Director holds a Master of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was a company member of the first Nebraska Theatre Caravan, a professional touring company now in its thirtieth year of production. In 1977 Lynn and her husband, Michael and their new son Aaron relocated to Columbia, Maryland. In the eighteen years there, Lynn performed and designed professionally from 1978 to 1986. Lynn was in the inaugural company of Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Columbia, designed for the Wax Museum (Washington, D.C), the University of Maryland, and the Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre (Woodbridge, VA). She was the director of the Columbia School of Theatrical Arts and the Slayton House camp of the Arts during the 1980’s. In 1995 Lynn and her family relocated to rural West Virginia where she directed the Ecumenical Youth Ministry of Oakland and where she met some of the performers in the TOTL Theatre Company. Lynn is currently the director of theatre programs at Preston High School in Kingwood, West Virginia. Since arriving at PHS in 1998, Lynn has directed 32 musicals and eight dramas with her students. In 2000 she began the Preston County Summer Theatre, a community theatre, and in 2001 the Preston County Camp of the Arts. Most of Lynn's career has been spent in educational theatre both on the collegiate and secondary levels. She has taught on the faculties of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Howard Community College (Columbia, MD), Mount St. Mary’s College (Emmitsburg, PA) and Frostburg State University (Frostburg, MD). In 2006 Lynn was nominated as a Disney Exemplary Teacher from Preston High and subsequently to Who's Who In American Women for 2006. She is the author of six theatre-for-youth plays under the title of the Adventures of Fledgly and is very proud to present Mabel's Story this summer, for which she wrote the book and lyrics.
Jamie Clegg, Piano Accompanist
This is Jamie’s first season with TOTL. Jamie grew up with a love of music, starting to play the piano before even beginning to talk. Jamie began working as an accompanist at the mere age of 11, working as an actor and pianist in numerous theatre companies around the tri-state area. Jamie first started music directing when given the opportunity to music direct Zombie Prom at Martinsburg High School, leading to a satisfying career as an accompanist, arranger, performer, and music director. Jamie Clegg has studied musical theatre as both a performer and pianist/music director at Fairmont State University and The University of Tampa, FL. As music director, Jamie has served up and down the east coast for numerous productions. Credits include: Parade at the Tampa Bay PAC, Songs for a New World at U of Tampa, Flora the Red Menace and Reefer Madness with Tampa Riverside Players, Children of Eden at the Apollo Civic Theatre, Grease, Chicago, and Random: A Musical Revue at Musselman High School, and Pippin, Godspell, and Oklahoma at Fairmont State. Jamie has also been an active performer throughout the east coast. Favorite roles include Helsa in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Courier in 1776, Jeb in 110 in the Shade, Tom Jenkins in Scrooge, and Peter Pan in Peter Pan. This September, Jamie will be moving to NYC to start a career as a musical director, accompanist, and composer. Leah BroderickTzeitel in Fiddler, Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, Mabel in Mabel's Story (composer) Leah Broderick is a 2004 graduate of Shenandoah University with a BFA in Music Theatre. She did an additional year of study at West Virginia University in music composition. Leah's training began early on as a vocalist with the Peabody Conservatory Youth Choir in Baltimore. During high school she studied voice with Emily Keene of WVU. While at Shenandoah she was a vocal student of Lori Horne. She is the current choreographer for the Music Theatre Ensemble at Preston High School has been the Music Director and Choreographer for over 20 shows between the TOTL, Preston High School, and the Preston County Summer Theatre seasons. Favorite roles include Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Lilly in The Secret Garden, Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias, Jo in Little Women, and Eve in Children of Eden. Leah is looking forward to her sixth summer with the TOTL Theatre Company and working with such a talented group of performers.
Daniel CrowleyPerchik in Fiddler, John Proctor in The Crucible, and Lance in Mabel's Story
This is Daniel's second season with TOTL. Last year he was featured in Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), Children of Eden (Adam/Japeth) and Brighton Beach Memoirs (Stanley). Past favorite roles in other theaters include Pippin in Pippin, Gaveston in Edward II, Sir Harry in Once Upon a Mattress, and Hero in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He has also appeared in Fairmont State University's productions of 1776, The Mandrake, All My Sons, and Spring Awakening. He would like to thank his friends and faculty at Fairmont State University for their unending support, and a heart full of love to Dad, Erin, and Addison.
Elizabeth Wotring-NelsonGolde in Fiddler..., Mary Warren in The Crucible, Mother in Mabel's Story This is Nelson's fifth season with TOTL after playing Martha in The Secret Garden, Meg in Little Women, Narrator in Joseph…, Kate in Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Mama Noah in Children of Eden. Elizabeth holds a B.A. Degree in Church Music from Greenville College and a Master's Degree in Musical Theatre Performance from The Boston Conservatory. Her performing experience includes years of traveling with musical ensembles, doing theatre, and working with and creating youth arts programs across the country. She is now living in Aurora, WV teaching private voice lessons in Oakland, MD and Fairmont State University and owns a Kindermusik studio in Oakland sponsored by Landon's Library. In Preston County, she music directed last summer’s youth production of The Fabulous Fable Factory. Elizabeth is married to Andrew Nelson and has a daughter Ingrid Jane and a son Rowan. Elizabeth is very happy to be in all three productions this summer and is also proudly helping to coordinate the website/media and ticket sales for TOTL. Thanks for supporting the arts in our area!
Zane Rerek
Zane Patrick Rerek is excited to be returning for his third season with TOTL. He is a rising sophomore at the Shenandoah Conservatory where he is pursuing a BFA in Acting. At Shenandoah, he has studied Acting and Shakespeare with Dr. Carolyn Coulson-Grigsby, Improvisation and Commedia dell’arte with Dr. Wade Fransen, and Script Analysis under Mark Kittlaus. Zane also performs instrumental and vocal music at campus concerts, co-wrote the original music for Shenandoah’s production of Androcles and the Lion, and is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. He has acted with the student group “The Playwright’s Performance”, dedicated to producing student written plays, and performs with the student improv/sketch comedy ensemble “The Loaf”. Past roles include Zanni in the Commedia dell’arte production of Androcles and the Lion, Son in Wasp, Eugene in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Tom Sawyer in Big River, and appeared as a soloist in the debut production of Mabel’s Story. He would like to thank the entire cast and crew of TOTL for another great season, his family for their continued support, his teachers, past and present, for their brilliant guidance, the brothers of the Nu Psi chapter of Phi Mu Alpha for their encouragement, and all his friends back at Shenandoah.
Taryn WoodChava in Fiddler..., Abigail Williams in The Crucible, and Ellen in Mabel's Story
Taryn Wood is a 2010 graduate of Shepherd University, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Musical Theatre. While at Shepherd she was thrilled to have the opportunity to play the roles of Colin (The Secret Garden), Little Red Riding Hood (Into the Woods), Rachel (Dark Play or Stories for Boys), Beth (The Tenderland), and Joanna (Big River). This fall Taryn will begin work on a Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Shepherd University with a concentration in secondary mathematics. She is extremely excited to be able to return to TOTL for her second season!
Meghan BroderickHodel in Fiddler..., Susannah/Goody Nurse in The Crucible, and Katie in Mabel's Story Meghan Broderick is a 2008 graduate of Shepherd University where she graduated with a Bachelors in both Music Theatre Performance and Music Education. While attending Shepherd University Meghan participated in several theatre productions. Some of her favorite roles include Marta in Company, Kate in Pirates of Penzance, Mary in Secret Garden, and Ugly Step Sister in Into the Woods. Meghan also was the assistant conductor for the Shepherd University Chamber Singers from 2006-2007 and has also conducted such ensembles as the Masterworks Chorale and Master Singers of Virginia. Meghan was a collegiate member of Sigma Alpha Iota, International Women’s Music Fraternity, MENC, ACDA, and Kappa Delta Pi, Education Honors Fraternity. This season will be her 6th season with TOTL Theatre Company. Some of her past roles at TOTL have been Mary in Secret Garden, Amy in Little Women, Martha Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, and Bianca in Taming of the Shrew. Currently Meghan resides in Shepherdstown, WV where she is a middle school chorus director at Wildwood Middle School.
Michael O'Connor Michael completed his first year at Fairmont State University while he is persuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. This is Michael's third season with the TOTL company. Michael loves the environment of the theater and meeting the new and returning actors so we can all join together to produce a mind blowing play. Michael hopes that this season goes well as the last on and for years to come.
Anthony Delauder ...in The Crucible, Anthony Delauder is a junior at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he is pursuing a degree in English with a creative writing focus and a minor in Theatre. He also holds an associates degree from the Community College of the Air Force in Weather Technology. He studied under Lynn Broderick while at Preston High School where he as attended the West Virginia Governor's School for the Arts for acting in 2001 and graduated in 2003. He is thrilled to be in his first year with Theatre on the Lake and to end a seven-year hiatus from acting. He wishes to thank Lynn Broderick and the TOTL Theatre Company for the opportunity to perform this summer.
Patrick Crogan ...in The Crucible, ... in Mabel's Story Patrick Crogan is a senior political science major at West Virginia University with a minor in music. Last season he made his TOTL debut as Jack Jerome in Brighton Beach Memoirs, and he is excited to return for his second season. Patrick has performed throughout West Virginia and western Maryland in various roles ranging from piano accompanist, music director, and singer, to acting in dinner theatre, murder mystery train tours, and musical theatre. He is also an avid composer and writer in his spare time. He would first like to thank Lynn Broderick for this wonderful opportunity, his mother and father for all their support, his family, his fellow brothers in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and most of all, God, for all of the above.
Allen Law ...in The Crucible, Coach in Mabel's Story Allen Law is pleased to be joining the TOTL family. Allen is a student at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia where he is an Acting major, with a minor in English. At Shenandoah he is involved with The Loaf, a student improv and sketch comedy group and SUIS (Shut Up! Its Shakespeare), Shenandoah’s student run Shakespeare troupe. He has performed at several theaters in the Tri-State area, including the Washington County Playhouse, the Old Opera House and the Apollo Civic Theater. Favorite past roles include Danny Zuko (Grease), Oscar (Sweet Charity) and J. Peirrepont Finch (How to Succeed in Business).
Keith McCarthy Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof Keith McCarthy earned a BM in music education (1999) and a MM in choral conducting (2002) from West Virginia University. He spent two more years in Morgantown as a graduate assistant completing the course work for a DMA in choral conducting under the direction of Dr. Kathleen Shannon. He recently finished his seventh year as Director of Choirs at Caesar Rodney High School, where he directs seven choral ensembles, assists with the marching band and recently directed his first ever musical. Mr. McCarthy studied voice with tenor, Prof. Eric DeForest and soprano Prof. Rebecca Turner and served as a soloist for the Three Rivers Choral Society in Pittsburgh, PA. He currently resides in Wyoming, Delaware with his wife of ten years Jennifer and three daughters Maggie, Ellie, and Ainsley. Favorite roles include Cain in Children of Eden, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. Keith is excited about returning to the TOTL Theatre Stage for the first time since it inaugural season in 2006.
