ELIZABETH WOTRING-NELSON

Elizabeth is excited to be back at TOTL for her 13th season! After playing roles such as Martha in The Secret Garden, Meg in Little Women, The Narrator in Joseph...Dreamcoat, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense 2, The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods, Mama Noah in Children of Eden, Mrs. Frank in the Diary of Anne Frank, Antigone in Antigone, and the Ladybug in James and the Giant Peach. Last year, she was excited to direct her first show (and perform in), Songs for a New World. This year, she will direct Barefoot in the Park for TOTL. Elizabeth is a private voice instructor and Assistant Professor of Theatre at Fairmont State University. She owns a Kindermusik studio that provides Kindermusik classes for Fairmont State University's Academy for the Arts where she has also directed youth shows (including this year's production of Into the Woods, Jr), has and provided workshops and camps for young performers. She recently played Pennwyise and music directed the musical Urinetown at Fairmont State University that was chosen as a featured show at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region II and was recently seen locally as Amalia in Our Town Theatre's production of She Loves Me. Elizabeth is also a freelance performer and soloist. She has a B.A. degree in Church Music from Greenville College in Greenville, IL and earned her Master's in Music degree in Musical Theatre Performance from The Boston Conservatory. She lives in Preston County, WV with her husband, Andrew, her amazing 13 year old daughter Ingrid (who was seen on the total stage as James in James and the giant Peach!), her 5 year old ballerina daughter Iris, and will share the stage with her 11year old son, Rowan, in this year's musical, The Hunting of the Snark!
